Make a statement: Orange The World 2025

Get ready: the global Orange The World campaign is starting!

From the International Day to End Violence against Women on 25 November until the Human Rights Day on 10 December 2025, people and organizations around the world will be setting a powerful sign for an end to violence against women and girls. This year, the campaign, which is being run by UN Women, is focusing on the violence that women and girls experience every day in public - whether on the street, at school, in the workplace or in the digital world.

Facts that move us to act
These latest statistics point out the alarming urgency: we must look closer and act now:

  • Femicide is a daily reality in Germany. In 2023, authorities recorded 938 attempted femicides, 360 of which resulted in death. (The WHO defines femicide as the killing of a woman because she is a woman).
  • We see an increase of 6.2% in cases of sexualized violence against women and girls.
  • The number of politically motivated misogynistic crimes increased by 56.3% in 2023.
  • Digital violence against women and girls rose by 25% in 2023.
  • When it comes to human trafficking for the sexual exploitation of women and girls, the number of registered cases rose by an alarming 6.9%.

Our actions include:

  • Raising a cross-campus flag to make our solidarity visible.
  • We light up our central parking garage in orange as a bright symbol against violence.

Your action: Become part of the movement!
We are calling on you to join in on Tuesday, November 25 and wear an orange item of clothing or accessory. Whether it's a bracelet, scarf, socks or trousers - join us in showing that you oppose violence and stand up for equal rights!

Together we will make our stance visible.
