Organizing Responsibly at the Bildungscampus in Heilbronn

Sustainable activity is not just an optional, it is an integral part of our campus operations. We promote resource-saving events and actively support organizers to implement sustainable measures. Not only do we aim to organize events efficiently and professionally, we also strive to do so responsibly. From the technical equipment to the catering and up to mobility, we place importance on long-term solutions that offer added value to people and the environment. Organizers profit from a well-thought-out infrastructure, transparent standards and a team that considers sustainability at every stage.

Our Five Action Areas

The Bildungscampus in Heilbronn is not only a center for education and research, but also a location for events satisfying the highest demands. The AULA, the FORUM and the Conferencing Area are our three modern locations available for a wide range of formats.

One special feature is our consistent commitment to sustainable event management. Under the guiding principle of #VisionSustainability2030, the campus pursues a clear sustainability strategy, which is anchored in a road map with five defined action areas. It defines the framework for concrete measures and non-negotiable standards in order to implement ecological, social and economic responsibility in the event sector.

Would you like to make your event on the Bildungscampus sustainable? Our guidelines support you with specific recommendations on technology, mobility, catering, waste management and more. Additionally you will receive references on helpful tools and certifications, which will help you to implement more environmentally friendly measures.

Technology

Sustainability also plays a central role in our event technology. The illumination of the stages and the hall is based entirely on modern, power-saving LED technology from renowned manufacturers who actively promote sustainability. A lot of spotlights are equipped with exchangeable modules so that individual components can be exchanged if defective instead of the complete appliance; this is a clear contribution to conserving resources.

Moreover, energy consumption is also reduced thanks to the ability to completely switch off technical appliances when they are not being used. In the same vein, general illumination is being controlled by motion detectors. This is supplemented by an energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning system that is centrally controlled for all event spaces. Upon request, our in-house technical team advises organizers on additional sustainable solutions ranging from lighting design to the resource conserving use of audiovisual media.

Catering

In the conferencing area, we work together exclusively with our regional, in-house caterer Voltino Catering. The company stands for high-quality food and will happily advise you on vegan and allergen-free alternatives. By operating our own restaurant directly on the Bildungscampus, we can guarantee fast and reliable catering for your event at all times.

Furthermore, we shall also be pleased to advise you on catering solutions: These range from recommending regional suppliers with environmentally conscious concepts to avoiding single-use dishes up to resource conserving processes and sensible utilization or reduction of surplus food.

Accommodation

Thanks to the central location and proximity to the Heilbronn city center, there are a number of hotels nearby that your guests can easily reach on foot. The hotels also enjoy excellent accessibility to public transportation or are located directly in the city center, allowing your guests to comfortably explore the surroundings. Upon request we shall be pleased to provide you with an overview of local hotels.

right and fair

The event management at the Bildungscampus in Heilbronn is a member of the industry initiative right and fair: the sustainability code of the German-speaking event industry. This codex is based on a voluntary commitment to take corporate responsibility in the area of sustainability, particularly when organizing and conducting events.

We implement the principles anchored in the codex by means of specific ecological, social and economically sustainable measures. Every two years, we hone our sustainability profile so as to ensure the highest transparency in event management. Being an active part of the sector, we contribute to establishing sustainable standards and to developing them further.
