Canteen

Where savoring beats studying – Since the spring of 2020, the very central Bildungscampus 8 has become home to the new canteen, which is one of the 21 - sometimes multiple - award-winning canteens and cafés of the Studierendenwerk Heidelberg. The dining area in the basement is reached from the ground floor entrance via a staircase or the elevator. The inner courtyard provides lots of natural daylight and offers protected seating in the open air. 'Landscaped hills' offer seating for about 600 guests. Outside of mealtimes the canteen may be used by students as a place to learn and sojourn.

Opening Hours

Because of the current COVID-19 regulations, operation and opening times are adapted according to the situation.

A summary of all information about the opening times and the current hygiene concept is to be found on the website of the website of the Studierendenwerk Heidelberg.

Food & Beverages

The menu changes on a daily basis: compose lunch individually from a number of different main courses and side-dishes. Salads, soups and desserts round off the culinary delights. The price is calculated on the total weight.
Bon appetit!

CampusStores

The shop.box and the collect.box are now open on the Bildungscampus of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation for those long study nights and unsettling exam days. Using an app, students and members of campus staff can now find comfort food, small meals, drinks and a selection of everyday items 24/7 on 365 days of the year opposite the LIV library. The shop.box works just like a small cash and carry. The collect.box comprises a modern goods vending machine .; What is particularly interesting is that the goods can be selected on site at the terminal or may be conveniently put together and reserved via app. The one prerequisite for access and for shopping is registration in the shop.box and/or collect.box app with the CampusCard ID. Payment is effected using the Klarna account. This can be set up during the app registration. If you already have a Klarna Account, this may be used.

Both apps are available by calling up shop.box and/or collect.box in the Google Play Store or in the Apple App Store and may be conveniently installed and set up at home.

How does shopping in the shop.box work?

The shop.box works just like a small cash and carry. In the course of this, access and billing of the purchases is settled via the shop.box app. The CampusCard ID is the prerequisite for registering in the app. Payment is effected using the Klarna account.

This may be opened during the app registration. Existing accounts may also be used. Entry to the shop.box is granted via a QR code. When the shop.box app is open, a QR code may be generated by shaking the smartphone. The entrance as well as the QR code scanner needed for entry are located on the right-hand side. The QR code must be scanned here. When the door opens, access is only granted to the entry foyer. As soon as access to the shop.box is granted, shopping can begin.

In der shop.box wird das Smartphone nicht gebraucht. The smartphone is not needed inside the shop.box. You can shop normally by removing products from the shelf or replacing them. You may also use your own shopping bags. If a product is damaged, this may be placed in the storage compartment in the exit area. Shopping is ended automatically upon leaving the shop.box. All articles which leave the CampusStore are placed in the virtual shopping cart and are booked from the Klarna account by direct debit. The invoice may be viewed in the shop.box app or be sent by e-mail.

How does shopping in the collect.box work?

The collect.box comprises a modern goods vending machine. What is particularly interesting is that the goods can be selected on site at the terminal or may be conveniently put together and reserved via app. Registration in the collect.box app is necessary to shop on site or to reserve articles because it regulates access, collection of goods and billing. The CampusCard ID is necessary for registering in the app. Payment is effected using the Klarna account. This may be opened during the app registration. Existing accounts may also be used. Shopping on site takes place directly at the terminal. To do this, a QR code must first of all be generated in the app which is needed for login at the QR code scanner of the collect.box terminal. Afterwards, the desired articles may be selected and placed in the shopping basket. To finalize shopping, the shopping basket must be confirmed as normal. The shopping basket is processed immediately and made available at the goods collection point to be taken away.

If you know exactly which items you want to purchase, then you can conveniently tick off your shopping list via the app from anywhere. A shopping basket can be put together and reserved using the app. The reservation is valid for 24 hours. After that, the shopping basket must be confirmed and collected in the collect.box. To do this, the QR code of the reserved shopping basket is scanned at the terminal. If needed, it is possible to change the articles here. Once you've ticked off the complete shopping list, the order is confirmed at the terminal and everything is made available at the goods collection point to be taken away. Shopping ends automatically as soon as all articles have been issued in full. At this moment, direct debit billing of the shopping cart is initiated with Klarna. The invoice may be viewed in the collect.box app or be sent by e-mail.

Who can I approach with questions about the CampusStores?

Has a glass fallen down, isn’t the app working properly or is there a complaint about a purchase? The quickest way to report is via the contact options in the app. Two e-mail addresses have been set up for queries just in case the app is unavailable: support*Den Text zwischen den * loeschen, dies ist ein Spamschutz*@shopbox.schwarz and support*Den Text zwischen den * loeschen, dies ist ein Spamschutz*@collectbox.schwarz.
