The Dieter Schwarz Foundation has made significant strides at the Bildungscampus in Heilbronn: Whether for preschoolers, students, or experienced professionals in continuing education – education knows no age and no boundaries. The diversity of education and science at the Bildungscampus is unique and continues to grow.

The campus is being expanded on the site west of the existing Bildungscampus and southeast of the Zukunftspark Wohlgelegen. The new section Bildungscampus West will be built on up to 80,000 m² of land. The buildings as well as the land use will be designed in an urban planning competition.

We are creating a climate-friendly and urban campus, of an experimental nature, characterized by sustainability, diversity, start-up spirit, and future viability."

Professor Reinhold Geilsdörfer

In the two-stage competition process, the proposal from pesch partner architekten stadtplaner GmbH from Stuttgart, together with TOPOTEK 1 Landschaftsarchitekten mbH from Berlin, was chosen for their concept "Urban Science hub". With their ideas for integration into the surrounding area, such as the Neckar riverside, the opening towards the city to make commercial, retail, and gastronomy offers accessible to everyone, as well as the spacious green and open spaces, they won out.

Currently, the site is primarily used for commercial purposes, retail, and services. It is planned that MediaMarkt will relocate to a new and modern retail location, situated near the entrance to the site at the corner of Edison and Füger Streets. The main purpose of the new campus section is to strengthen the interaction and connectivity between campus life and urban space. New pathways will be created through the surrounding urban neighborhoods such as Neckarbogen, experimenta, and Neckarmeile to make the Bildungscampus even more accessible.
